Head of Health and Safety _ develops, implements, and oversees organizational safety policies in KLAY to ensure compliance with OHS / OSHA and other regulations, aiming to minimize risk and foster a safe workplace culture. Key duties include conducting audits, investigating incidents, training personnel, and leading strategic safety initiatives to protect employees.
Key JOB Responsibilities
Policy Development: Design and enforce comprehensive health and safety procedures, ensuring alignment with central, state, and local regulations.
Risk Management: Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement mitigation plans in KLAY Centres and Office spaces.
Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace accidents or near-misses to determine causes and prevent recurrence.
Training & Education: Develop and deliver safety training programs for staff, management, and contractors.
Compliance Reporting: Maintain documentation of safety metrics, incident reports, and compliance data for regulatory bodies.
Safety Leadership: Promote a proactive safety culture across the organization, collaborating with department heads to reduce hazards.
Educational Qualifications and Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, safety management, Environmental Sciences or a related field.
Experience: Overall 10+ years of experience of which at least 3-5 years of experience in a safety management or leadership role, often with industry-specific experience (e.g., construction, manufacturing).
Certifications: Preferred credentials include Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or NEBOSH and FIRE safety.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards.
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, data analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
